Theres many free games, but Alien Swarm is the first free game made by VALVe themselves.

The other free games are mods. (Pirates, Vikings and Knights, Moon Base Alpha, Dystopia) etc etc.

Fine but still, BattleForge is advertised there as a pay2play game. You got a box version for 30 euro that does not mention that you are paying only and exclusively for the cards within, and the game it self is still presented as a free "Demo".

Its 100% sure that if those few words would be changed accordingly and Battle Forge would make use of the community tools presented by steam, we would get a constant player income. Also im sure steam would be interested in selling booster packs and/or special offer cards to the players too. I mean even if they want 10 or 20% of the payment for themself, everything is better and more profitable than letting the game die.

Well the f2p version is in fact a demo, just a little different, but yeah they should call the non-free for "Battleforge Cards and BFP Pack" and the free one just for "Battleforge"

There is a huge difference for players between "free2play" and a "demo". In a world full of massive multiplayer online games there are no "demos". Either you call them trial version when the game is p2p or f2p.

I agree with Cryder, his opinion on the free to play feature being a demonstration is both sound and note worthy. The free to play users have limited access to the games content, forcing them to pay money in order to unlock this content. Unlike other games where items can be unlocked by playing endless hours of gameplay in order to unlock the payed for content, Battleforge has no such options. You ether buy the cards or go without.

You know thats not true. We got a lot of f2p players that unlocked the game just by trading and grinding.
You dont need to buy BFP. Time is what you need, and its up to you if you think its worth to spend yours.

Steam is highly overrated. It's only good for TF2.

Apart from that, Battleforge isn't being "left to die" just because your personal wishes aren't being fulfilled. There's still regular patches, and we have a new edition somewhere in the near future.

True... or not?

pve: skylord. (13)
pvp: pure fire bane. (19)

Fact: the majority of people below pvp rank 20 have a strong dislike towards t1 conflicts.

Pure Fire FTW.

Possibly retiring for the busy school year. we'll see how it goes.

Excuse me Eburoon but i think we are way past my "personal wishes". In fact i find it very short sighted and dumb to even accuse me of something like that. Its hell of a simple fact that BF has 0 advertisements, a lack of PvE content and could do better on all lines. Every each game presented in steam has its game related information constantly updated on their news and other sections. Feel free to check what battleforge has pulled off in regards of that. You get a complete black blank page on every information window within steam.

Hell you dont even get a proper documentation about the game cause the official loot list is discontinued and you can barely find use-able/up to date card lists, not to mention skill/effect descriptions. Empires with its half year old bug was fixed after i dared to create a rage topic about how nobody gives a damn about in game bugs. You with your one month old account may think this game gets regularly cared for but i can assure you that its barely enough to keep it alive. Browse around the forums and check how many players have left because of the zero dev care, but even before that, you might wanna spend some time with the game and see for yourself how it works.

Also sorry if you think that steam is highly overrated. It has over 5 million accounts and is one (if not the first) of the leading d2d sellers on the market. If you intend to tell me that having a good reputation there will not bring in players, then i would say its only your pride and spite speaking, not your brains.
Seriously. If ya want to vent your anger because the way i write is unsettling then feel free to contact me in game (Aerensiniac) and flame me there. I promise i wont /ignore you. If possible keep the forum for the more or less insightful suggestion, NOT involving your personal pride issues.

You are wrong about that, check the definition of F2P.
Nobody is forced to pay in order to play, you can have fun with your starter deck, earn gold trade it for BF and buy new cards. Even if that sounds extremely blunt, there is nothing in BF that would require you to pay in order to play, as such comes the F2P tag to it.

People may or may not choose to pay for new boosters, but they are not forced to.
