Appearantly the BFP I bought on eBay were not legit and now my account has been suspended. Is there any way to remove the fraudulent bfp and get the account back? The account itself (and additional bfp) were bought in the ea online store.
I'm talking about 5500 points that I received through the ea store (and thus should be ok) against the 1000 bfp I stupidly bought on eBay. Losing the whole account for that is rather harsh. Last edited by Jonas782; 11.06.2009 at 13:22. |

All you can do is try and contact EA. Ask for them to unban your account, explaining your situation, not sure if it will work or not though.

You'll have to take it up with Customer Service.

And let this be a cautionary tale.
The only way to rid the game of illegitimate BFP sellers is to remove demand. The only way to remove demand is to actually enforce the EULA. If you buy BFP from shady sources, you are part of the spam problem.

Not to drag this out, but I just have to add some points:
This isn't the first game related stuff I buy on eBay, and I never had any issues. I certainly understand that something has to be done about this, but closing a whole account (which itself and most BFP on it was acquired directly from EA) is too harsh - I'm a victim of this as well, after all! I lost the money for those bfp and the account - and of course I'd rather reimburse any damage than to completely lose the account. Also, there's no warning about this outside the forum, and even in the forum the threads regarding this were posted a long time after my purchase. There's an announcement page ingame, the least thing that could be done would be to post a warning there as well. |

Just make it legal to buy BFP from secondary sources and say "Buyer Beware, our BFP are guaranteed"
First however, make robust spam filters, "ignore" functionality and a spam channel that is blockable and ban people for failing to use it. |

Banning accounts is pretty standard practice in all subscription/micro transaction games. In BF case, you're "taking" profit straight from EA by going to illegal 3rd party. In games like WoW, it's not as dangerous since everyone is paying monthly fee anyway, there it's made to protect economy and overall flow of the game. |

Jonas...
I am not saying that this is true for you, but definitely some other players. Players buying Battleforge points from illegitimate sources (agamegold) are told from these illegitimate sources to say they got the points from another vendor (ebay) if the player is ever questioned. ![]() The problem with that is that EA has digital signing on EVERY key, and can tell exactly where it originated from. No matter what BS you toss at the support team, they will win the legitimate key battle every time. Good luck with your support issue, I do hope you aren't one of the lost causes!

Great Job, EA.
Instead of getting rid of cheaters, or grabbing the root of the "Point-Sellers-Problem", they're getting rid of a customer who already placed money in their shop (assuming this is true...)... lol. and sad. P.S: Eula is not even worth the paper (if it would be printed) it's on, at least not in Germany, dunno how it's for you guys...

He didn't purchase the points from Phenomic / EA, thus he's not supporting them. |
