Default Player - Developer questions regarding the Renegade Edition

Hi guys,

please read the announcement before posting here!

I will put together a list of questions (25 max!) that will be forwarded to the developers and we'll publish the replies next week in an article. This is YOUR CHANCE to be heard!

So just shoot your questions, I'll then sum them up in the first post.

// edit:

Questions collected! Do not ask any more please, they won't be considered!

Questions:

Before release:
  1. Will there be a beta // betaserver to test the new cards?

Card Design / Strategy:
  1. How many new cards are there in the new set? The announcement states 60 new units and buildings (what about spells), but also says 120 new cards?
  2. How will the edition be comprised exactly? - How many units / buildings / spells are there for each color?
  3. Will the new set feature 1 orb creatures?
  4. Will players be bound to a certain color combo due to the dual orb system (only fire / shadow or nature / frost) or will other combinations and single color decks still be playable?
  5. Will there be "pure" T2, T3 and T4 cards or only dual orb cards?
  6. Will you be introducing any new mechanics (things like looter, charge, etc) or using any of the existing mechanics in new ways (cards that do extra stuff to frozen targets, etc.)
  7. Will there be new card types and / or factions and will the other three factions become more competitive in PvE vs. Nature?
  8. Will there be non-bandit or non-stonekin-cards?
  9. How will affinities work?
  10. Will the new card address current PvP issues?
    - Will there be counters in the new set in order to dispel buffstacking? (buff/effect removal spells, helping against perma CC and also against buffed units, like unholy drakes / immortal ashbones)
    - Are there any anti-towering cards
  11. Did Community ideas find their way into the new set (like this one http://forums.battleforge.com/forum/...&postcount=1)?

Upgrades:
  1. How do we get the upgrades for the new cards? Will we have to farm Renegade maps once more and will Level 3 upgrades for the Twilight edition be moved to the Twilight maps?
  2. Will upgrades for the new cards be available all the way to level three when the edition is released, or will the higher level upgrade cards be released in stages as with Twilight Edition?
Content / Storyline:
  1. Does the Renegade Edition feature a completely new storyline or will it continue the existing one?
  2. How many new maps will be implemented with the release of the Renegade Edition and will we play on a different continent?
Changes to existing materials / interaction with Twilight:
  1. Will the existing maps be changed in some ways (new creatures instead of old Stoneskin and Bandit units, etc..)?
  2. Will there be a separated tome matchmaker for Twilight / Renegade? Also, will we be able to use existing BFPs or do we need to purchase new ones?
  3. Can different edition decks be used together? If so, wouldn't Enlightenment ruin the point of multi-colored T4 cards?

Promos / Boosters:
  1. Will there be Promo cards and if so, how can we get them?
  2. Will there be any free cards or do we need to collect everything via boosters?
  3. Will Twilight tomes / boosters always be available or will they run out? Also, will they become cheaper once Renegade is released?
Non-Renegade related / after this edition:
  1. What are the plans after the Renegade Edition - When will new maps and a new edition be released?
  2. Will there be a map editor after this release?
  3. Will there be features supporting guilds and clans?

Questions that didn't make the cut:
  • When exactly in August will the cards be available?
  • Will the new set feature more content that is supposed to attract girls?
  • Will there be an overview of the new cards on websites like Bfcards?

Default 120 or 60 cards?

http://www.battleforge.com/portal/si...orge/renegade/

In this link it says in the text in the top that 60 new creatures and buildings will be added while next to the creature in the bottom it says that 120 new cards will be added in august. Which is the truth? 60 or 120 new cards in august?;)

I 2nd that question.

It's not regarding the renegade card edition (my apologies) but I doubt we'll get 25 questions regarding that, I could be wrong though :p
Question: Are there any plans for a map editor in the future? PVE or PVP (big difference as in PVP you don't have AI and events to mess with).
If this question is not allowed, then maybe generalize it into: What are the plans after the renegade release, just like we've seen before.. e.g: New maps and a new card edition once in half a year or are there other huge features coming up?

Question: With the dual orb system, will the players be bound to certain color combo's. Like bandit requires shadow/fire and stonekin requires frost/nature. In order to benefit from the renegade edition we thus have to be either of the 2 combo's, doesn't this limit the 'creativity' of a deck? Or have the devs taken this into account?

1. Will there be a beta to test the new cards?
2. Will there be the multicolored cards other than fire/shadow and frost/nature?
3. Would be only new buildings and creatures in the new edition or spells also? or even new cardtypes?
4. Does any communty idea had influence on the new edition? like: http://forums.battleforge.com/forum/...59&postcount=1
5. Will there be be seperated tome matching for twighlight/Renegade?
6. Do we need to farm renegade maps again for upgrades for the new cards? x.x
7. Would finally a map editor implemented with the new edition?

Its a simple and plain question.

Will there be new pure cards for T2 and T3 and T4 or only dualorb cards?

Here's one i would personally like to know:

How will the fact that fire/shadow and frost/nature get so many dual-cards fit in with the balancing of other multicolour deck combinations?

Also, don't forward this, but somebody is bound to know this:
Can different edition decks be used together anyway (never really understood that in other CCG)
And if they can, don't you think enlightenment may ruin the point of these super-new multi-orb cards?

About the 60/120 mixup: As i understand it, there will be 60 new 'pure' cards added to the existing ones, and 60 new 'dual-orb' cards with the coming ediiton.

How will the new edition be comprised?

twilight edition has 100 units + 48 buildings + 52 spells = 200 cards. (25% for each color)

renegade edition will have (as i read the posted information) 60 buildings + 60 units = 120 cards. (is that right? really no spells?)

how will they be divided into colors? (e.g. 25% shadow/fire 25% nature/frost and 12.5% each "normal color"?)

will there be any "pure" cards? (cards that require multiple orbs of the same color, and no other color, like enforcer)

Two questions:

How will tomes be handled? For example, can Twilight tomes fight Renegade tomes? Can you mix boosters from different editions in a single tome?

Assuming you are only releasing dual cards for two orb combinations (Frost/Nature and Shadow/Fire) out of the six possible, aren't you afraid that these two combinations will become too dominant (mainly in PvP)?

*EDIT* By the time I finished typing, these questions were already asked. -_- At least these two are what I am primarily interested in.
