Greetings and Good Evening BattleForge Users ^_^.


After witnessing several threads involving competitions and card handouts I have decided that I too would like to start my own competition :3. However it is no secret that my own style deviates from that of the forums mainstream and this is especially true when it comes to forum competitions.

I've never lied to any of you and I've always given it to you straight... I don't like art competitions, for one they limit applications by allowing only those with Artistic Talents to have any chance of winning. Add to to that the fact that all art is subjective, means that any piece of art could be genuinely good, but not necessarily win because the judge didn't share your view. Last but not least, what really gives anyone of us the right to judge art work of others who have put a lot of hard work and effort into their masterpieces, in my opinion? No one.

Instead I prefer competitions and games based not on any inherent skill or talent, but on pure luck, coincidence and chance, it gives everyone regardless of age, gender, career, religion, ect, the same amount of chance of winning as anyone else. Proving that chance based games are the most balanced forms of competition. Also the winners are chosen at random as opposed to having someone else, who more often that not, is very different from the person they are judging which may or may not alter the decision.

So I decided on a Raffle ^_^.


Xientie's Raffle

The rules are many, but simple.

1. Each player chooses a number between 1 to 50 and may only choose one number per round.

2. Prizes are chosen at random, though each person may request ether a Nature, Fire, Frost or Shadow card when they choose their number.

3. Prizes are likely to be cards with an average cost below 500 points, this could easily get a Forsaken or a Mana Wing.

4. No one under the age of 12 may participate, as they are not legally allowed to play Battleforge.

5. Everyone else on the other hand, from Play 4 Free to users with over 5000 points are free to participate. This is also open to the Moderators and or the Developers if they would like to play.

6. The Raffle is open ended, it will end when I decide to end it or if it starts to slow down.

7. If enough people (20-30) have listed their numbers I may start the Raffle early, rolling for a winner there and then and moving on to the next round. In this manner it may be possible to have multiple Raffles per day, limited only by my own online time.

8. If a winning ticket is not drawn the first time I will continue to do so until a winning ticket is selected. Instead of choosing the closest number.

9. Participants may not reserve numbers, but may (if they are the first ones to do so) select the same number again in the next round.

10. Please note that users will have to give me their in game user name in order for me to send them their prizes. If you wish to keep your in game name a secret (for whatever reason) I will not disclose it with anyone else.

11. Screenshots of the winning tickets and the time they were drawn will be posted along with the winners forum name and the prize they won.

12. When I choose to end a round I will state that this round is finished and a winner has been selected and that the new round has started, but will re-edit it with that rounds results. This is to stop new players from posting in a round that has already been concluded.

13. If the same person wins the next round as well as the prior (two rounds in a row) they will not be expelled from the third and other players should just accept that they were lucky.

And just for the wonderful fact that you took the time to think and write out 13 rules for a luck based raffle, I pick '13'
